I PLANT A TREE, I SAVE A COMMUNITY in KAPATAGAN, LANAO DEL NORTE !

Many people take nature for granted and do not realize that they cannot just reap from it. The Earth needs to be nourished in return, so it can catch up with the people’s requirements. Everyone should assist in preserving nature because someday it may start to vanish.
Everyone can help save the nature around us by acting out in many different ways. Recycling, planting, using eco-friendly products, being more conservative with products and bringing awareness to this matter are just a few simple acts that can cure the Earth.
"ONE MILLION TREEs and BEYOND"is one of La Salle University- Ozamiz City's campaign and as a lasallian I am going to extend this mission to my own community through initiating the youth on planting more trees. :)

Not just one, two, three! We are five in a group who rendered services partly in our community-Taguitic. Last Tuesday on the Twenty-second of January,S'Eric reminded us about our assignment which is to create a blog and have posts on it. Among those title given, this " I plant a tree, I save a community" somehow gave me really the burden or somewhat like pushes me to do something instantly since I have recalled our experience on flashflood last August 2007.It was so terrifying yet we were still able to help others paricularly stranded passengers. It was a great fulfillment!

I was so excited yet confused  on how
to start this task, seemingly impossible!
On my way home, I think vaguely on this matter that could somehow make sense-as a tourism student who is particularly on environmental concerns.
Finally I got an idea! When I'm home,
I asked my sister-Kaye to gather her immediate
friends to participate in planting trees. Then,
we started at late afternoon after attending
church fellowship.

Since we are near in a riverside, we planted more trees along with it that could help a lot-to prevent devastating soil erosion, flash floods.

RECYCLE, REPLENISH, REVITALIZE !

 RECYCLE
REPLENISH
REVITALIZE

Being a people-oriented industry, tourism also provides many jobs which have helped revitalize OUR ENVIRONMENT AS WELL AS OUR ECONOMY. However, like other forms of development, tourism can also cause its share of problems, loss of cultural heritage, economic dependence and ecological degradation

All tourism activities of whatever motivation – holidays, business travel, conferences, adventure travel and ecotourism – need to be sustainable. Sustainable tourism is defined as “tourism that respects both local people and the traveler, cultural heritage and the environment
To promote a personal commitment here are somehow forms of actions that maximizes sustainable human development and environmental quality and to plan ways of teaching about sustainable tourism.
